The project won the support of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (MTA) for 5 years (starting: second half of 2017) and it is located to the ELTE University. From this support scholars (art historians, archaeologists, architects) work on fragments of five medieval locations (Pilis, Cistercian abbey; Esztergom medieval cathedral and royal palace, Zalavár, Benedictine abbey, Pannonhalma, Benedictine abbey, Pécs, cathedral). These locations can be found a huge number of unpublished medieval stone carvings from the early 11th to beginning of the 16th century without which the assessment of the regions art history is almost impossible. We would also like to extend the program to the sculptural decoration of existing buildings, and we are working to make it international.
